Picked up a 'donor' for our newest project, It will be for the 2018 scottsdale barrette-jackson auction.    It will have the new ZO6  LT4 motor, L470E trans, a morrison frame and the exterior will be  white pearl.   Still haven't decided on interior color yet, have a few in mind, but thats much later.

A lot of work has been done in recent weeks., most of which was taking it apart and cleaning things up.  billie pressure washed the underside and engine compartment.  I stripped the old paint from the inside of the trunk and the soft top panel, as well as  guage housing.  I  also cut the tack area out to make room for the flaming river tilt steering column then I sanded and featherfilled the housing.     After all that, we had the body sandblasted, we even removed the doors  so the  so all the edges could be blasted.  wanted to us plastic beads, but unfortunately they don't have  that here.

painted inside the soft top panel and trunk lid with a bright white, just to protect it until the body is on the frame and running.  painted the complete door also in the bright white.  everything will be repainted later in white pearl.

starting on building the 67 style hood.   this is the hardest part of the build for me.  on the inside of the hood where I just use fiberglass resin and cloth to reinforce the pieces.    I use nothing but fiberglass and resin when I build a hood.  I'll use fiberglass bondo to finish the outside later.

first time the body has been off to do the complete underneath of the vette.  we built a plastic wall around the lift so we won't mess up the shop too much.  stripped the complete underneath to bare fiberglass.   the inner wheel wells had undercoating,   a lot of extra work to scrap it off.  after stripping to bare glass, repairs any little areas that are needed, and primed the complete underneath.  modified the radiator support to make room for the be cool radiator, painted it the new c7 interior color to match our new interior

here are a bunch of pictures of the Art Morrison frame and the LT4 motor with a L475E special built automatic transmission which is not sold to the  public.heres the crate the frame came in, toke two trips to the dump to get rid ofwe put the extra wheels on it to first try the body on the new frame,   had to do more modify on the underneath of the back of the vette to clear the suspension. it.

here's our LT4  650 hp motor.  we also had to change the water pump to a special also a different oil pan, which I paint it and a few other engine parts in the white pearl color, including the throtte body, spacers, etc.one

the original frame was in real good condition, oh well,   I'll sell it later.the trunk finally finished again after our changes we made.  we also had to change the bell housing on the new special transmission  to fit on the LT4 motor.  putting the LT4 motor and transmission on the frame to check for fit. put in the new flaming river tilt steering column to check for hooking up the steering to the rack and pinion..

THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS JUST ABOUT DONE.  ALL OF THE INTERIOR BROWN COLOR IS DONE IN A SEMI GLOSS PAINT.   TRYING TO GIVE IT A DIFFERENT LOOK THAT ALL THE OTHER VETTES THAT WILL BE THERE.  THE BROWN UNDER THE HOOD IS ALSO DONE IN THE SEMI COLOR AND THE HOOD STRIP WILL ALSO A SEMI COLOR.  BETWEEN THE WHITE PEARL AND THE BROWN COLOR SHOULD MAKE IT DIFFERENT THAN THE BLACK WITH RED INTERIOR, OR WHITE WITH RED INTERIOR, AND SO ON.  HAVE MOST OF THE BODY READY FOR PAINT, WHICH WILL BE DONE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
